Heerenveen booked a Europa League playoff final spot against Vitesse Arnhem after a 3-2 aggregate win secured in extra time against Feyenoord

    Script:

Giovanni van Bronckhorst took charge of Feyenoord in front of their home fans for the first time as his side looked to overturn a 1-0 Eredivisie play-off deficit against Heerenveen.

It looked to be going well when Anass Achahbar sent Jordy Clasie's shot into the back of the net in the 41st minute to level the tie.

Neither side though could find a winner in normal time though as the game went into extra time.

It looked as though Feyenoord would edge ahead when Elvis Manu broke free - but his shot was touched to safety by Heerenveen goal keeper Kris Nordfeldt.

Seconds later, Heerenveen scored - Marc Uth collecting a diagonal long ball that evaded the Feyenoord defence and slipping the ball past Kenneth Vermeer.

The Feyenoord fans were further stunned when - again, aided by poor defending - the German striker was able to smash home his second.

Although Colin Kazim-Richards managed to find the net late on, it was too little, too late.

Heerenveen confirmed in the Europa League play off final against Vitesse Arnhem - a disappointing season for Feyenoord draws to a close
