"It has been emotional as you can tell, but we've come out of it the right end of the result and credit to the supporters. It shows you what it's like, I've been here (for) Champions League football and that's what the crowd was like and it was like a Champions League game today, they got behind the football club and we were all united and I do know that Mike (Ashley) did an interview beforehand, I didn't see it, but that's the step that we might be taking to bring this football club together, because it has to be one. It has to be one for us to be successful, we can't afford to get ourselves in this situation ever again. We all know we've made mistakes, everybody, and we've admitted those mistakes. This is a big summer now and I've had assurances that we're going to spend money, so the fans can go away and have their summer holidays, look forward to players coming through the door, but also look forward to that fixture list coming through."

"I sat in the dressing room today and looked into peoples eyes, we were ready for this game today. You can still say why for the one game that you have to win, have you put in a performance like that, but we have because that was the situation. But when I looked into the players eyes I had that good feeling."
