"I don't really know to be honest. I am not really angry. I'm a little disappointed I am not going to be here for the weekend. If there was any weekend to miss then coming off the back of three good weekends in the States - I am probably in need of a little bit of a rest. I would still rather be here but it's not all bad getting to go home for the weekend."

SOUNDBITE (English) Rory McIlroy, World number one

"Any time you are defending the title you want to come back and give it a valiant effort. This week wasn't really that. As I said, just dust myself off and get ready for next week at the Irish Open."

SOUNDBITE (English) Rory McIlroy, World number one

"I think so. I am not going to read too much into it. It was inevitable at some point that the run was going to come to a bit of an end and I am back to my usual at Wentworth. It wasn't great before I won last year and it hasn't been great after."

    SOUNDBITE (English) Francesco Molinari, 10-under

"It's never easy to follow a round like yesterday. It was a bit of a shaky start but I did well to come back. I played well. I putted well. I could have probably chipped a bit better for the first few holes but, all in all, I am happy with today."
