  • Intro:

Post-game press conference after the Golden State Warriors beat the Houston Rockets 110-106 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday (19 May) at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, USA.

    Script:

(English) Steve Kerr, Golden State Warriors Head Coach:

"There's a reason these two teams are here in the conference finals, a lot of talent but a lot of competitive desire. And I thought tonight the level of competition may have exceeded the level of execution, but that's playoff basketball. It's physical, it's hard to get open shots at times and you have to play through all that. And I thought both teams really competed hard."

(English) James Harden, Houston Rockets Guard:(On his mindset in the fourth quarter).

"Just get to the rim, be aggressive, they went really small, really small and so the rim was basically wide open. So I just tried to attack and see opportunities and just be aggressive."

(English) Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors Guard:
    (On playing against James Harden).

"Obviously we don't guard each other very much but when you're out there you kind of get riled up with the back and forth that might happen. Like tonight or just the will to want to win the game even more because you know how great of a player he is and what it takes to beat a team like Houston with a guy like James (Harden)."
