It's a hilly 95 miles from Forli to Imola and with the rain ever present it was Russian Ilnur Zakarin who stole the 11th stage.

After an early breakaway, the Katusha rider launched a solo attack with 15 miles to go, The 25-year-old, who won the Tour of Romandie this month breaking clear on a climb.

Zakarin remained in charge, and crossed the line 53 seconds ahead of the pack, the race ending on the circuit that once hosted the San Marino Grand Prix
