Real Madrid were hoping home support would help them in the Eurobasket final against Olympiacos. They came out well to quickly open up a five point gap. But the Greek side hit back and by the end of the first quarter led 19-15.

Matt Lojeski on his way to top scoring on the night with 17 points.

Jonas Maciulis sank a couple of three pointers in the second period though and by half-time the Spanish side seemed in command at 35-28 up.

Back though came Olympiacos with 12 unanswered points, the game was right in the balance now.

Madrid sured up their defence, sometimes in spectacular style from Andres Nocioni. He would go on to claim the MVP and his team would go on to claim the title.

What about this from Sergio Rodriguez as he moved the score on, it finished 78-59. Real Madrid champions for a record ninth time, ending a twenty year wait since the last one. Now it's the basketball team's turn to chase La Decima.
