IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe was taken to a hospital for surgery after crashing his car into the wall on Monday (18 May) - the fourth frightening wreck at practice for the Indianapolis 500 in the past week.
The Canadian driver slammed into the wall going into turn three at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
His car briefly slid on its right side before coming to rest upright. IndyCar officials said he suffered an injury to his upper left thigh but other details were not immediately known.
