SOUNDBITE: (English) Brad Haddin, Australian Wicketkeeper:

"No it wasn't a hard decision at all. I have been very privileged to play in the era I have with one day cricket for Australia and I think the time is right. There was no better way to go out than the wonderful event of the World Cup final and this was a decision made not with selectors or Darren (Lehmann, Australia coach) pushing me. It was just that this was the first time to call an end to be honest.
I'm not getting any younger. I've obviously got more games behind me than I do in front of me and it's the perfect time to let Australia build. They've got four years now until a World Cup. I didn't want speculation of my selection halfway through an Ashes campaign so I just wanted to make it all neat, to be perfectly honest.

"You need to give an Ashes campaign the respect it deserves. And I'm not thinking any further ahead than that. I still think I've got a lot of Test cricket left in me so from that points of view, I'm happy with where my games at but you've got to give the Ashes campaign the respect it deserves and I'm not thinking about retirement or anything at the moment, I just want to be part of this campaign."
