  • Intro:

British squash's home hope Laura Massaro came from behind to stun world number one Nicol David and reach the final of the British Open in Hull on Saturday (May 16).

    Script:

Hull was the location for the British Open semi-finals, and top billing was the World No 1 and 2.

Nick Matthew took the first game, when the World No 1 - Mohamed Elshorbagy hit into the tin.

The British born Egyptian then took the second and third games, before winning the fourth by the same scoreline as Matthew did in the first - 11-5.

He'll play Frenchman Gregory Gaultier in the final.

Over into the women's event and the one remaining British hope looked to be on her way out of the tournament.

Laura Massaro was trailing world no 1 Nicol David by two games and down 4-love in the third before she rallied.

The Brit pulled the match back to two games all and then in the deciding game had two points for the win.

Preston born Massaro earned one of her biggest victories to date and will play World No 6 Camile Serme in the final on Sunday.
