    Script:

Blue skies for round three of the Spanish Open in Barcelona on Saturday.

But firm greens and difficult winds made play tricky.

Not that mattered for Darren Fichardt on the 11th hole.

The long-range birdie putt - a highlight of a disappointing day for the South African.

Francesco Molinari couldn't match him from a similar position.

He's now sitting two strokes off the overall lead.

Defending champion Miguel Angel Jimenez is six shots off the lead - he signed-off his card with a birdie at the 18th.

While compatriot Sergio Garcia produced a round-of the-day performance to go two-under overall and give himself an outside chance of clinching a second Spanish Open.

But he'll have to catch England's James Morrison and David Howell.

This birdie at the third for Howell one of seven he pulled off for a round of three-under 69.

Morrison meanwhile, recovered from a double bogey at the second hole to hit seven birdies on his way to a four-under 68.

The duo, now on seven under overall, share the overnight lead going into the final day.
