It feels like it's meant to be, at the end of play on day two of the Open de Espana, the leader is Edouard Espana.

Despite his name indicating otherwise, he is in actual fact a frenchman, and curently leads the field by a shot having carded a round of 69.

Second on the leaderboard is home favourite Miguel Angel Jimenez who carded a 71 and finished one-under.

However, he also produced the shot of the day at the eighth, a wonderful six-iron that pitched around 15 feet short of the pin before rolling perfectly into the cup.

The 51-year-old , who has a passion for cigars and red wine will need to make do with beer this time around, 288 beers to be precise, given that that was the unusual prize for his hole-in-one.

All players were forced to deal with strong winds throughout the afternoon, and pre-tournament favourite, Sergio Garcia, was lucky to avoid missing the cut as he went around in 72 and 75 in his opening rounds.

Nevertheless, he will have the chance to make up for his first two rounds over the weekend as he tries to challenge Espana and Jimenez.
