SOUNDBITE (English) Andrew Strauss, England director of cricket:

"No, I mean other than to say that I'm supporting him this summer. He's had a very, very tough time as England captain. We need stability in the England cricket team right at the moment. We've just made the very tough decision to move on from Peter Moores (former coach). Alastair Cook can provide that stability and that leadership for the rest of the team."

SOUNDBITE (English) Andrew Strauss, England director of cricket:

"In honesty, this has been an unbelievably difficult topic for everyone. We've all been trying to work out what the right way forward is. Myself and Tom (Tom Harrison, England and Wales Cricket Board chief executive officer) and Colin Graves (England and Wales Cricket Board chairman) have come to the conclusion that this is the best way forward for English cricket. We're absolutely, completely aligned on this and by providing clarity, hopefully it provides an opportunity for our young players to go forward without this cloud so much hanging over their heads and providing pressure that they don't need."

SOUNDBITE (England) Tom Harrison, England and Wales Cricket Board chief executive officer:

"Well, I think it was a very difficult day and the way that news came to light was regrettable. I', still not sure how that happened in terms of how it came to light, but once it publicly... it was in the public space, it was absolutely clear that what I needed to do was deal with it very quickly, my sole priority being Peter Moores and dealing with him with the respect that he deserves as a coach and has done a great job for England over two spells, so it was a very difficult scenario, I sincerely hope it doesn't ever happen again, but ultimately, once it comes to light, it was our single priority, regardless of any media response to that, to deal with Peter and the issue as quickly as possible and that's what we did."
