    SOUNDBITE: (English) Kevin Pietersen:

"Well, the (ECB) chairman (Colin Graves) said that he wanted me to get a county and he wanted me to get runs..... well, the chairman-elect, I think he comes into power on Friday (15th May). What more can I do? What more can I do? There's a new director (Andrew Strauss), there's a new chairman, there's a new CEO, there's going to be a new coach. All I can do is score runs and I'm ready to play for England."

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Kevin Pietersen:

Q: Does that change your thinking in any way? That all the changes that have gone on this week, has that changed your thinking in any way? Or is it still just a case of 'I have to go to do what I want to do and and you have to come and pick me?

"Well, I knew there was lot of pressure on me today because Strauss holds a press conference tomorrow (Tuesday). This was a hell of a lot of pressure - I felt it this morning. That's why I am so proud of how I did today. You can play against Australia, you can play in Ashes series, you can play in... a lot of people on social media today were saying, 'This as match-defining innings... sorry, a career-defining innings. Are you good for it? You have to get runs today. (Andrew) Strauss holds his press conference tomorrow.' All I can say if that I am incredibly proud of how I played today with all the pressure I was under. I'm incredibly proud of how I played under the pressure I was under."

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Kevin Pietersen:

Q: Do you enjoy the pressure? It focuses the mind, doesn't it?

"I've done it my whole career. I've practised well. I've practised rally hard. I do the right things off the fields and it doesn't guarantee you anything on the field. I can say to myself, 'Well, you didn't try hard off the field.' I do the hard yards. You know I do the hard yards. You get the rewards when you put the hard yards in."

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Kevin Pietersen:

Q: Final question. How was that moment when you got the career-best and then went past 300? It's a big thing. Not many do it - go past 300!

"The career-best I didn't even know about. I was on about 280 and someone said, 'What's your career-best?', and I was like, 'Oh, righty. I've got a career-best.' Incredibly special moment, I mean 300. I've always wanted one. But I wondered when I would ever get near it but today I've done it and if Danny and I bat well tomorrow, maybe it could be four (hundred)!"

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Kevin Pietersen:

Q: I would have thought that you are a satisfied man tonight? 326 not out; a career-best. Very well played.

"Thanks Churchy (local reporter Mark Church). It's a pretty good feeling, It really is a good feeling. I've never got a triple-century before so, yeah, I'm incredibly proud. I've said it for a while that I'm batting as well as I have ever batted. This is proof of it."
