Tuesday, May 12 2015 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Grigor Dimitrov beats Jerzy Janowicz, Gilles Simon fights back to win against Jack Sock and John Isner eases passed Joao Sousa in the first round of the Rome Masters.

    Script:

A confident start for Grigor Dimitrov at the Rome Masters, as he took the first set of his match against Jerzy Janowicz 6-3.

The unseeded pole made 20 more unforced errors than Dimitrov, the second set did go to a tie-break but Dimitrov won it 7-4 for a place in the second round.

Things were more tricky for Gilles Simon, he lost the first set of his match against Jack Sock 6-4 but fought back to take the next on a tie break.

The decider was decided by a couple of late breaks as Sock tired and in the end made twice as many unforced errors as the Frenchman.

John Isner is also through, he beat Joao Sousa 7-5 6-3. The big man looks set to make a big impact in Italy this week.
