Intro:
Players Championship at the TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Rory McIlroy, Jordan SpiethScript:
SOUNDBITE: English, Jerry Kelly:
"I had two and a half months where I wondered if I would ever make another cut. That's what goes through my head. I've never been a very solid mental player, like I said, that you know I was just missing cuts by one shot twice and then two shots another and one bad week. And it's like, is it finally here? I'm 48. Am I ever going to make another cut? And then things click at Hilton Head and all of a sudden here I am. It's a crazy game, I'm a crazy human, and it's tough to match those two up. So it's fun, though."
SOUNDBITE: English, Rory McIlroy:
"Steady. It was okay. I mean, I was pretty bored out there. I'm not sure how you guys felt about watching it (laughing). Just try and hit fairways, hit greens, pick off my birdies when I could. Yeah."
SOUNDBITE: English, Jordan Spieth:
"Yeah, but it's not much different (the media spotlight despite not making the cut). Recently I've still had that, ever since I've come on Tour - that spotlight in a way. I don't feel like I've ever been completely under the radar. There is certainly a different level now, but it's not significantly different from where it was, so I don't feel the pressures of it. I don't think that had anything to do with it. I just simply have not worked hard enough since the Masters to have my game. I mean I sprayed it everywhere his week and it's not like me. This is going to be great. I'm going to get back with Cameron, in a great routine and then I go to Colonial and Byron which I've played a million times each of them; familiar tracks, I know how to play them. I'm excited for this next stretch."
