SOUNDBITE (English): Richie Porte, Team Sky:

"It's going to be a hard third week (of Giro d'Italia) but I think for me the mental strength I have from winning from the start of the season, I'd prefer to come into this race having won stages of every race I've done than maybe such a long altitude block. I don't feel tired, I'm ready to fight, I know it's going to be hard but it's going to be the same for everybody."

SOUNDBITE (English): Richie Porte, Team Sky:

"I think my main rivals are obviously Alberto Contador, he's the big favourite, he's the guy that's won the most Grand Tours here. I think Rigoberto Uran, he's been second here two years in a row, so he has something to really prove. And then there's Fabio Aru, who's a bit of an unknown quantity. He's so young (24) and so brilliant but there's also guys like Domenico Pozzovivo. He's flying under the radar a bit, but I've raced him all season and he's getting stronger and stronger with each race."
