Two first half goals from Burak Yilmaz guided Galatasaray to victory at Akhisar Belediyespor on Monday (4th May) and kept them in touch at the top of the table.

Galatasaray took on Akhisar looking to go back to the top of the Super Lig.

But it was the home side that threatened early - with Gala goalkeeper Nestor Muslera forced to tip over from Guray Vural.

But it was Galatasaray who took the lead; Burak Yilmaz put his side in front, the first a fine piece of poaching from the striker to pounce upon on rebound in the 23rd minute.

Then, twelve minutes later, Yilmaz struck again to seal it for the visitors. He rose highest to glance home a header and ensure the three points.

Akhisar had chances in the second half - Ricardo Vaz Te coming closest - but he couldn't find the target and Galatasaray held on for the three points.

Two nil the final score. Galatasary are now joint top with Besiktas.
