Tom Latham hopes New Zealand can take confidence from their good showing at the Cricket World Cup into the Test series against England.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Latham, New Zealand batsman (on England):

"We know how good they are and it's their home conditions. Last time we were here they beat us two-nil so we know it's certainly going to be a tough challenge, especially at home, so I'm sure they'll be looking to bounce back."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Latham, New Zealand batsman (on the World Cup ODI win over England):

"Yeah that was a massive highlight for us and I think nowadays you have to adjust pretty quickly from form to form. Hopefully we can take that confidence from the World Cup and take it into the test arena."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Latham, New Zealand batsman (on whether it may hurt the Black Caps with their key players still with the IPL):

"No I don't think so. I think international cricket nowadays you have to chop and change from each format. They're certainly world class players and have been around a long time. I know you'll adapt pretty quickly once they get here."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Latham, New Zealand batsman (on whether England's recent struggles will help New Zealand):

"It certainly won't be playing on our minds. We'll focus on what we've got to do and we'll try to prepare as good as possible and hopefully that will give us a good chance."
