SOUNDBITE: (English) Matthew Hoggard, Former England bowler (on England's performance at the Cricket World Cup):

"The World Cup was an absolute debacle. We're still playing a brand of cricket that was successful in the 1990's. We've seen how much cricket has moved moved forward with the big four - India, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa - how well they played at the World Cup. We've seen in the IPL what sort of shots batsmen can now play. We're behind the eight ball. We need to change our strategy, change the way we play one day cricket very quickly."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Matthew Hoggard, Former England bowler (on England's drawn series versus the West Indies):

"Listening to Peter Moores' interview afterwards saying that we've had a good series, it's quite shocking seeing as we lost (drew) the series. We played some good cricket in parts but we lost the series in the second innings in the last test match, well drew, we lost that game. Colin Graves has come out with a statement that with a mediocre West Indies side, if we don't beat them there's going to be an inquiry. Peter Moores has asked for some time and some patience but I don't think that Colin Graves is going to give him that leeway. I think when Colin Graves has come in as chairman (of the ECB) there's going to be some action. It will be quite interesting to see what that action is and who's going to take over the role (Director of Cricket). I still haven't see a job description as to exactly what that job entails."
