Former Spain central midfielder Gaizka Mendieta says compatriot Rafael Benítez, who is expected to leave Italian side Napoli this summer, 'would love to manage an English Premier League club again'.

"I'm not so sure. I know he would love to go back and coach in England because he always talk about it and raise it. But it has to be the right offer - Rafa wouldn't come just for the sake of coaching in England. It would have to be a club that has a project he believes in, that he will identify with and that's not easy when you've been at Liverpool and Chelsea and you've won titles and your expectations and your profile is rising. Not everyone is able to tempt him to comeback. But I know personally he would like to come back."

"It has to be a club obviously that is challenging for titles. But not only that, they have a structured way - because he likes to work with the development of the players as well. So it will have to be - out of the clubs you've mentioned there, Man City is probably the one he has already up and running but we have to wait and see. It seems now Napoli is making offers to him to renew the contract but I know he will take the decision that will satisfy him more personally in terms that he has and feels he has the freedom to work in the way he likes to work."
