Atletico Madrid's Gabi appeared in court on Monday to give evidence over alleged match-fixing.

He captained the Real Zaragoza side that is currently under investigation from the Spanish FA for bribing their opponents to help them avoid relegation in 2011.

Javi Venta, Jorge Lopez and Jefferson Montero were also all in court.

A former right back, Venta played for Levante for a single season from 2010-2011.

The match at the centre of the current investigation is Real Zaragoza's 2-1 victory over Levante at the end of that season.

Jorge Lopez was with Zaragoza that season, while Jefferson Montero was on loan to Levante from Villarreal.

The investigation surrounds claims that some Zaragoza players were paid over $100,000 for keeping the club in the La Liga, and that some of that money was then diverted to the accounts of Levante players.
