'NBA's Hawks lacked aggression'

  • Intro:

Reaction after Randy Wittman's Washington Wizards win 104-98 against Mike Budenholzer's Atlanta Hawks in game one of their best-of-seven NBA Eastern Conference second round play-off series.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Mike Budenholzer, Atlanta Hawks:

"They made more plays in the second half than we did. I think defensively we just had a couple of lags, a couple of lulls that allowed them to get back in it and then get a little separation. And offensively, I think we've got to be more aggressive. We got to get to the paint and we got to attack more and continue to move the ball. But I think it's got to start with us being more aggressive offensively and us being more aggressive getting to the paint."

SOUNDBITE: (English): Randy Wittman, Washington Wizards:

"I told our guys at half-time, if we could come out with a really good start here from a defensive standpoint, get ourselves into it from the, because in the first half I really never felt we got anything going defensively. They had, they hurt us just about every which way, transition to having us flying around. I thought we got more organised in the second half and the start of the third quarter and we built on that."
