Maxime Chanot of Kortrijk scored an own goal as Gent won 1-0 on Sunday (3 May).
The first half was tight and the tackles were tough.
Benoit Poulain wasn't even booked for a heavy looking challenge on Danijel Milicevic of Gent, but some blatant shirt pulling on Lukas Van Eenoo did eventually draw a booking for Milicevic, the first of five yellow cards which were eventually dished out in a bad-tempered game.
Maxime Chanot scored the only goal of the game but it was into his own net.
The Gent team and fans went crazy on the final whistle as they went top of the Pro League.
