Bolt beaten in World Relays

Monday, May 04 2015 by SNTV
  • Intro:

The U.S. men's team sprint to a convincing victory over Jamaica in the 4x100 metres relay at the IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas.

    Script:

America beat Usain Bolt's Jamaica in the 4x100 metres relay at the World Relays in the Bahamas.

Mike Rodgers, Justin Gatlin and Tyson Gay powered the Americans to a five-meter advantage through three legs of the highly anticipated race and Ryan Bailey brought the team home in 37.38 seconds.

Bolt made up ground on Bailey in their anchor leg but couldn't close the gap as Jamaica finished second in 37.68 seconds.

For the U.S. it was the equal-seventh fastest performance in history but a controversial victory given the drug-tainted background of team members Rodgers, Gay and Gatlin.

The American's domination continued into the women's distance medley where they set a world record of 10:36.50.

Treniere Moser, Sanya Richards-Ross, Ajee Wilson and Shannon Rowbury took more than six seconds off the previous mark that was set indoors earlier this year by a different U.S. squad.
