SOUNDBITE: (English) Alex Dowsett, Movistar cyclist:(On his upcoming Hour Record attempt)

"I am confident that I am capable of taking it. Only if everything goes to plan, if I am disciplined in the first 20 minutes with my pacing strategy."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Alex Dowsett, Movistar cyclist:(On his motivation for attempting the record)

"It's not about getting the record. For me personally, I'm not here to not get the record, but it's about the attempt. It's about putting yourself out there and going for it and that's the message we are trying to send to haemophiliacs - that it doesn't need to hold you back."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Alex Dowsett, Movistar cyclist:(On breaking his collarbone during training earlier in the year)

"Everything was just going well before I broke the collarbone. I was nailing every single training session without fail. I had really good momentum, haven't had the same momentum since the collarbone break. I've had the odd cold here and there which means you have to take a few days out which has been frustrating at times. That's life as an athlete - you have to take the ups with the downs. I'm in a good place, the last three weeks everything has slotted together and gone well."
