SOUNDBITE: (English) Philip Brook, Chairman of the All England Club (announcing 2015 tournament prize money):

"For our singles champions there is a seven per cent increase. That is a £120,000 ($183,000) increase on last year so this year our singles champions will receive a prize money of £1.88 million ($2.87 million). More generally on prize money, with regards to singles, after three years of favouring the left hand side of the draw (losers in the early rounds) we do feel now we have the balance about right. So this year there is an overall eight per cent increase in prize money - broadly the same from round to round."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Philip Brook, Chairman of the All England Club (asked if he is comfortable with the amount of prize money on offer this year):

"I think without the world's best tennis players here we wouldn't have the world's best tennis tournament. We recognise that the players are an essential ingredient of our championships and this level of prize money is affordable for these championships. We think it's important we reflect that in what we pay the players. So yes, we are comfortable."
