SOUNDBITE (English) Mariana Vieira de Mello, Rio 2016 General Manager for Paralympic Integration
"'Flash mob' is a type of activity that is a surprise for everyone. That's exactly what we think that the Paralympics will bring to spectators in Rio. They will be surprised by the Games and by the performance of the paralympic athletes."
The choreographer definitely tried to get that feeling into this dance and she thinks the city is perfect for this kind of event.
SOUNDBITE (English) Deborah Colker, choreographer
"Rio is the kind of city that… for example, if one Japanese guy come here and stay here. In one month… ok… in three months he will be a Carioca (Rio citizen) We really like to mix, we really like to exchange languages, culture, ideas. this is a city that likes to say 'Welcome'."
If the 200 dancers involved here are anything to go by, the world's best Paralympians will be made to feel right at home in September next year.
