Intro:
Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored twice as Hamburger SV boosted their chances of avoiding Bundesliga relegation with a 3-2 win over Augsburg on Saturday (25th April).
Script:
Hamburg detain a special record in Germany, they have never been relegated from the Bundesliga, however, that record is in serious jeopardy.
They went into their game against Augsburg in desperate need of a win that would help climb off the bottom of the table.
And they got off to the perfect start - Ivica Olic scoring the team's first goal in seven matches following a fortunate deflection.
It was 2-0 in the 19th minute as Pierre-Michael Lassoga rose tallest in the box to head home a pin-point cross and put Hamburg in a perfect position.
However, the home side allowed Augsburg back into the game with some woeful defending, Raul Bobadilla with the finish to cut the deficit.
Tobias Werner then equalised in the 69th minute, as all of Hamburg's good work looked to have been wasted much to the frustration of their coach.
Two minutes later, Lassoga came to the rescue of his side with his second of the game, a wonderful strike into the top corner that sent home fans into a wild frenzy.
The vital 3-2 win means Hamburg climb off the bottom into the relegation playoff spot, a point above Stuttgart.
