World welterweight cham Braekhus on respect for Klitschko

    World welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus talked to SNTV in New York on Friday (24 April).

    Undisputed world welterweight champion, Norwegian boxer Cecilia Braekhus was in attendance at the Wladimir Klitschko/Bryant Jennings weigh-in at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday (24 April) for Saturday night's world heavyweight championship fight.

    The native Columbian, who holds a 27-0 record recently signed with Klitschko's K2 Promotions and has been in New York during the lead up to Klitschko's contest with Jennings.

    The 33-year-old holds the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO titles.

    She is currently recuperating from a foot injury, but is hopeful to be back in the ring this summer.

    Where her next bout will take place is in question, but it potentially it could be the first fight in Norway in 33 years.

    The Norwegian Parliament recently reinstituted boxing as a legal sport after it's banishment in 1982.
