2011 runner-up Caroline Wozniacki reached the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix final with a 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 victory over Simona Halep on Saturday afternoon.

Wozniacki started off strong. After winning the first set 7-5, she attempted to assert her control in the second set as well, breaking to level the points at 4-4.

However, it did not take long for Halep to strike back. The soon-to-be world number 2 broke Wozniacki and exhausted the Dane with full lengths around the court, eventually taking the second set 7-5.

It took the fourth-seed Wozniacki almost three hours to prevail, winning four games in a row in the third set. She eventually broke the Romanian again to close out the win and earn her 2nd Stuttgart final.

Later on in the day, Angelique Kerber cruised past USA's Madison Brengle 6-3, 6-1 to become the second finalist in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

Unlike the previous exhausting semi-final, this match lasted just under an hour with Kerber showing a diverse range of her skills, demonstrating clever volleys and ferocious forehands.

The German left-hander, who had beaten three-time defending champion Maria Sharapova in the second round, won both sets with a clean 6-3, 6-1 victory. The final will take place on Sunday.
