Lee Westwood opened up a five shot lead after the 3rd round of the Indonesia Masters on Saturday, in a day packed with dramatic finishes.
Three men were tied for second. Thailand's Nanchok Tantipokhakul had an up and down round with four birdies undone by three bogeys - a 71 though sees him to three under par overall.
Thomas Bjorn was another sharing second - the veteran Dane also firing a third round of 71.
Y.E Yang, winner of the 2009 PGA championship, continued to improve as he handed in his best round yet - a 69 for the South Korean.
But Lee Westwood demonstrated the value of staying patient. The Englishman was even par for the front nine, but got things moving on the way in - his round sparked by an eagle at the 12th.
Westwood then fired five birdies in a row to see him to a third round total of 65 and open up a five shot lead at the top of the leaderboard going into the final round at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Lee Westwood
"Well, it will be great. I've been here twice and I won both times so I like to keep that going. I've never been beaten before so I'm going in with a big chance tomorrow. You know nobody was really doing anything around the front-nine. I was sort of plodding along and only a even-par around till 11 but still only two behind then. So you know a good run like that and that separate you from the field a little bit but it was nice to do that and sort of stamp a bit of authority when nobody was doing it really."
The winner of the 2011 and 2012 Indonesia Masters will surely be looking for a hat-trick of titles on Sunday.
