Canadian teen sensation Brooke Henderson is the leader of the second round of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in San Francisco, after she shot a tournament-record 7-under 65 on Friday.

Her more experienced competitors did not gift her the lead easily. Pornanong Phatlum made a short birdie on the 3rd hole to get down to -5.

Ha Na Jang also made birdie on the 4th hole, and lowered her score to 6-under par.

But Henderson, who, after a bogey on the 5th hole, made birdie on the 6th hole to reach 8-under. One hole later, she reached 9-under with another birdie.

Still, she shot a tournament-record 7-under 65 to take the second round lead.

Ariya Jutanugarn did not come close to the top of the leaderboard, but she made one of the best shots of the day.

Her chip from a slope off the green on the 16th hole found the cup for a birdie.

But that great shot only took her to 5-over par.

Pornanong Phatlum also made a difficult shot look easy, when she holed out her bunker shot on the 4th hole for par to remain at 5-under par.

And Juli Inkster did well to sink her birdie putt try on the 14th hole to reach 4-under, to conclude this surprise turnout for the tournament.
