The first round of the Porsche Grand Prix in Stuttgart continued with Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland taking on Sara Errani of Italy

Radwanska had won seven of the previous nine matches against Errani, but the Italian took a close first set 7-6 after a tie breaker.

There was very little between in the players in the second set, but at 5-4, 40-30 down, Radwanska hit the ball long, giving Errani the victory 7-6, 6-4, and a place in the next round.

Elsewhere Zarina Diyas crushed Germany's Fed Cup player and former Wimbledon runner-up Sabine Lisicki 6-0, 6-0.

Kazakhstan's top player brushed aside Lisicki in 64 minutes on the indoor clay in Stuttgart.

Lisicki certainly off colour, but world number 32 progresses to round two.
