SOUNDBITE (English) Anderson Silva, former UFC Middleweight Champion

"So (I made) my decision because I like this sport. I have a great story at Taekwondo. I think I have a great chance to go to the Olympic Games. So, I will train hard because this is my life."

SOUNDBITE: (Portuguese) Anderson Silva, former UFC MIddleweight Champion(On the challenge to return to Taekwondo)

"It's a challenge I am willing to face. I'm not worried to embarrass myself because everything I did for this sport and everything Taekwondo has given me helped me to take the name of the country where iI should have taken it. To make the country, for a long time, the biggest powerhouse in the MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) in the world. I want to do the same with Taekwondo."

SOUNDBITE: (Portuguese) Anderson Silva, former UFC MIddleweight Champion(On what he would do from now on)

"My main focus now is to begin my most intense practices at Taekwondo and be able to participate the trials that will happen so I can make myself available to attend the (Olympic) Games. That's my goal.

(Question: Will you stop with MMA?)

    "No, I won't stop!"

SOUNDBITE: (Portuguese) Carlos Fernandes, President of Brazilian Taekwondo Federation(On giving a wild card to automatically make Silva one of the Olympic athletes)

"That's impossible. Rules will be respected. The CBTKD (Brazilian Taekwondo federation) would never bow to this process. And Anderson would not accept it. He's a champion that had always demonstrate its value in the cage. It won't be different here. That's impossible."

SOUNDBITE (Portuguese) Carlos Fernandes, President of Brazilian Taekwondo Federation

"I think that those who are thinking against his superiority will fail. Anderson is a very clever man. Taekwondo today is very clever. I think he made the right decision. I think Anderson is not wrong in his wish and neither we are making the wrong bet.
