Besiktas go top following 5-1 thrashing of Kasimpasa

  • Intro:

Besiktas hit five past a Kasimpasa side reduced to nine men to go top of the Turkish Super Lig.

    Script:

Kasimpasa were without a win in four matches in the Turkish Super league and their hopes of picking up three points against high-flying Besiktas were given an early blow.

It took the visitors just three minutes to find the back of the net thanks to Mustafa Pektemek's close range header.

The home side conceded a second in the 38th minute when Demba Ba took advantage of some excellent build up play - he rounded Isaksson to finish into the empty net.

Kasimpasa did manage to pull a goal back before the break though, Tunay Torun's free kick missed everyone in the crowded box and found its way in to make it 2-1.

Any hopes of a comeback were quickly quashed after the restart thanks to a brilliant finish by Brazilian defender Ramon.

The finish was worthy of any great striker in the world and well worth a second look.

But Besiktas weren't finished there, and their fourth goal of the afternoon was equally as impressive: Pektemek scooped the ball over two defender and Olcay Sahan volleyed home.

The thrashing was complete in the final minutes as Jose Sosa strolled through to make it 5-1.

Besiktas go back to the top, level on points with Galatasaray, while Kasimpasa will need to take a serious look at their back line having conceded 10 in their last two games.
