Wolfsburg lost ground on Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga after being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Schalke on Sunday (April 19).
Script:
In Sunday's Bundesliga games, Wolfsburg played host to Schalke in a top of the table clash.
Ricardo Rodriguez went close to opening the scoring for the hosts with a magnificent long range effort, but he was denied by the crossbar.
Instead it was Schalke who took the lead.
Leroy Sane picked the ball up on the edge of his own box following a corner kick and went on an explosive run towards the Wolfsburg goal.
He needed a significant chunk of luck as the ball ricochet back into his feet on two attempted dribbles.
But he made the most of that luck as he struck as he finished cooly to make it 1-0 Schalke.
Wolfsburg found an equaliser in the 78th through former Chelsea midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne.
It was the Belgian's 10th goal of the season in the Bundesliga and that's how it ended.

In the day's other game, Hamburg visited Werder Bremen in desperate need of points as they battle to stay in the top flight.
They looked to be holding on for a draw when Valon Behrami brought down Junozovic in the box with just six minutes remaining.
Franco Di Santo stepped up and converted the penalty to secure a 1-0 win for Werde.
Hamburg meanwhile succumbed to their fifth successive defeat and remain rock bottom.
