Borussia Dortmund confirmed on Sunday (19th April) that Thomas Tuchel will take over as head coach this summer, after Jurgen Klopp revealed that he would be stepping down from the role.

Borussia Dortmund has announced Jurgen Klopp's replacement - former Mainz boss Thomas Tuchel.

Klopp revealed just last week that he'd be stepping down from the role at Dortmund as he felt he was no longer the right man for the job.

The highly regarded Tuchel will take up the role in the summer after taking a year off from the game.

It's not the first time he's played successor to the charistmatic Klopp.

Tuchel took charge of Mainz a year after the 47-year-old left the club to join the eight time German champions.

Tuchel will receive a three year contract.
