Saracens look ahead to European Champions Cup semi-final against familiar foes, Clermont Auvergne.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Mark McCall Saracens Head Coach. (Q : What did you think of ASM performance eliminating Northampton in quarter final ?)

"I think I said to the press in England this week that it was the best club performance by anybody this season. It was exceptional. We know that they are capable of playing that way and our task tomorrow, our challenge tomorrow, is to make sure that doesn't happen again."

SOUNDBITE (English) Mark McCall Saracens Head Coach. (Q : Are you wary of ASM Clermont players after losing to them before?)

"Of course not. It was 12 months ago. We've played them twice since then. I think both clubs have got a lot of respect for each other. We've both been playing quarter finals, and semi-finals and finals of this competition and domestically over the last three seasons and experience tells you that it's on the day. We've lost to them a couple of times, they've lost to us a couple of times and it's going to be very much on the day."

SOUNDBITE (English) Mark McCall Saracens Head Coach. (Q : Are you impressed about this team ASM?)

"Listen, Clermont are a good team. An outstanding team in fact and we admire them a lot because, not only because of the quality that they have, but because of the resilience that they have. They have been involved in a lot of semi-finals and finals down the years and haven't always got what they would have wanted in those games and they've lost some big games along the way. But they keep coming back for more. They keep presenting themselves at the business end of the season and for that they deserve a huge amount of credit."

SOUNDBITE (English) Brad Barritt, Saracens captain. (Q : Spirit is the benchmark or Saracens ?)

"It's a huge amount of what we take pride in. Ultimately in rugby games, you get games where everything goes well for you. An example would be that semi-final last year. We pride ourselves on when things don't go well, our ability to stay on the task and stay in the game and I think this week is going to be somewhat like that. It's going to be a test of nerve, a test of character and how we stick in there and hold out until the end for a full eighty minute performance is going to be the defining factor."

SOUNDBITE (English) Brad Barritt, Saracens Player. (Q : What did you thing about Saracens's game against Racing Metro in last round ?)

"It was a typical Saracens display I think. The heart and the emotion and the ability to stay in there when the chips are down. I think we'll look back on a game that didn't have everything going our way but the way that the team stuck to the task and just kept in it and a huge amount of confidence shown from Marcelo at the end to nail the kick and it was a great way to progress into a semi-final and we know that there's a lot more to come from us and that's the exciting thing. We come into this fixture having had a great win against Leicester last week, full of confidence and ready to go."
