Perfect conditions for the opening round of a new edition to the European Tour - the Shenzhen International in South China.

It was a day to remember for France's Raphael Jacquelin as he made his 500th appearance on the European Tour.

He went to shoot a one-under par round of 71.

Fresh from the Masters was Bubba Watson, who tidied up an erratic card with three birdies in a row on the back nine after starting at the 10th.

Bubba rolled in this putt for birdie at the par 4, 6th, before setting up his birdie at the seventh with this brilliant approach.

Watson finished with a two under par 70.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand continued his good form with a round of 67, he's at five under par and tied in second place.

Also in a tie for second on the leaderboard is South Korea's An Byeong Hun - who was helped by a hole in one at the 226 yard, par 3, eighth.

Hun had one eagle, four birdies and just one bogey during his round as he too carded an impressive 67.

The third player in a share for second is the American Peter Uihlein, who enjoyed a strong back nine to also open with a 67.

Uihlein made five birdies on his way into the clubhouse and he, and sits just one shot back of leader Huang Wen-yi.

Wen-yi, who set up birdie here at the par 4, fourth, managed no fewer than eight birdies in an excellent round of 66, after two blemishes on his card.

He's out in front and leads by one.
