Athletics Kenya (AK) president Isaiah Kiplagat announces the suspension of two athlete management companies - Volare Sports of the Netherlands and Italy's Rosa and Associates - over a rise in positive drug tests among the country's distance runners.

SOUNDBITE (English) Isaiah Kiplagat, Athletics Kenya president:

"... We know the two that we're going to mention, manage the highest number of elite athletes in this country. We will therefore, working with the IAAF, and the 'meet' promoters, like the Diamond League and so forth, to agree on the modalities of how we are going to manage these athletes so that they don't miss competition. This suspension or the normal Kenyan way now of stepping aside, will be for a period of six months, then we'll decide the two that we have today (Monday) decided that let us put them aside until investigations are complete are Rosa and Associates and Gerard van der Veen."
