    Script:

They've made it. A sight many thought might not happen, Dongfeng Race Team are at the start line in Itajai in Brazil and set to sail in leg six of the Volvo Ocean Race.

They'll hope for more luck on this journey as the boat's mast broke with the team in the middle of the Southern Ocean in leg five and so they pulled out and limped to Ushaia in Argentina and faced a race against time to transport the boat here for the April 16 start.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Charles Caudrelier, Dongfeng Race Team skipper:

"Well, it is a bit strange. Usually I am going from the weather but I am very happy because two things (here) are very important. To be ready for the next leg and to arrive on time and the mast and know tonight that everything is there, and to be ready for the next day, no?"

The loss of the mast cost the team the lead and also eight points - leaving the crew a lot to do in the coming weeks.

So this leg could be crucial, they'll now sail north from Brazil to Newport, on the east coast of the United States.

Expect plenty more twists and potential breaks between now and mid-June when the race ends in Sweden.
