"I was still a couple of thousand points of being world number one and I though ok, one big win at a Slam and maybe I'll have a shot at number one at some point this year. I didn't think it was going to happen this early but it's been an incredible five weeks and just the way we did it to win three in a row, it doesn't happen very often."

"Women do play sport in India now and that has become a career option but the majority still believe that there are certain dos and don'ts for a women, for girls, want they should and shouldn't do culturally. I feel this is a way of saying you've got to let the girl do what she wants to do... and the parents need to believe in them and even if nobody believes in them, they need to believe in themselves."

"We're a team, we somehow just became a team and I think it helps that we knew each other for a long time but we were never best of friends we were competitors and played against each other but I've got to know her a lot over the last few weeks and she's an amazing person. She's helped me reach my potential too and I feel like we always believe in each other. As a team you need to believe in each other and the chemistry takes you forward. In tough moments - we've had some this week with super tie-breaks - we came through because we believed in each other."
