Second round matches took place at the El Gouna International tournament, with a number of the big names on show.

Mohamed Elshorbagy, Nick Matthew and Ramy Ashour were all in action.

There were no major shocks though, defending champion Ramy Ashour overcame his fellow Egyptian Fares Dessouki despite losing the first set. He won 6-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-8 in just under an hour.

England's Nick Matthew also had to bounce back from losing the first game to Frenchman Mathieu Castagnet, before he eventually won the contest 6-11, 11-5, 11-5, 11-5.

And the theme continued, as top seed Mohamed Elshorbagy took to the court. He also lost the opening game to fellow Egyptian Mazen Hesham, but proceeded to win the next three and advanced with a scoreline of 8-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-6, in 45 minutes.
