Longo Borghini wins Ronde van Vlaanderen

    Wiggle Honda secured a one-two finish at the UCI Women's Road World Cup's Ronde van Vlaanderen with standings-leader Jolien d'Hoore finishing just behind team-mate Elisa Longo Borghini.

    Its renowned as the mist ruthless race on the Women's Road World Cup calendar - Ronde van Vlaanderen.

    But Elisa Longo Borghini of Wiggle Honda thrived on the the 145-km race in Belgium.

    The riders had to tackle ten climbs known as bergs, some of them on tricky cobbles.

    Longo Borghini pedalled into first place in three hours, 50 minutes and 43 seconds.

    Her team-mate Jolien d'Hoore finished second just ahead of the chasing pack, with Anna van der Breggen of Rabo Liv Cycling finishing third.

    The result marks a great day for the Wiggle Honda Team, as d'Hoore moves back to the top of the overall standings on 220 points, while Longo Borghini moves up to third on 190.

    Great Britain's Lizzie Armistead drops down to second on 195 points after finishing a disappointing eighth.

    The Road World Cup stays in Belgium for its next event, the Fleche Wallonne Feminine, which takes place on 22nd April.
