A place in the final of the Miami Open was up for grabs for either Andrea Petkovic or Carla Suarez Navarro... The Spaniard took control of the first set through an early break and at 5-3 she broke serve again to take the set 6-3.

This was the fifth meeting between the pair, both had won two of their previous matches but this was one sided. Suarez Navarro didn't face one break point throughout, rarely does a player dominate like this in a semi-final.

Surprising too as Petkovic hadn't dropped a single set on her way to this stage but the number 12 seed also took the second set 6-3 to reach a tour final for the eighth time in her career.

She's only won one of her previous seven finals though and they don't come much tougher than this one, she will face either Serena Williams or Simona Halep on Saturday.
