Neuquen staged the third round of the 2015 FIM Motocross World Championship - the MXGP of Patagonia Argentina - on Sunday.

Championship leader Clement Desalle won race one, finishing more than ten seconds ahead of defending champion Antonio Cairoli in second place.

It was the Belgian's first win of the campaign after he had finished second in all four races across the the two previous rounds.

Maximilian Nagl completed the race one podium positions, finishing third, and then claimed the hole shot for race two.

Frenchman Desalle passed Nagl for the lead before the end of lap one though and the two battled for position before the German reclaimed first place on lap seven of 18.

Italy's Cairoli also got past Desalle, on lap 12, and went on to finish in second place behind race winner Nagl, with Desalle holding on to third.

Nagl, who won both races at the season opening MXGP of Qatar, finished level on points overall with Desalle, but claimed the GP victory by virtue of having won race two.

That lifted Nagl above Cairoli in the championship standings and up into second place, 10 points behind pace setter Desalle.
