Next up for the Briton is Kevin Anderson of South Africa who lives just up the coast in Delray Beach.

Austria's Dominic Thiem is also through to round four after beating Jack Sock 6-4 6-3.

There was a major upset on the Grandstand court as Adrian Mannarino dumped out seventh seed Stan Wawrinka.

The 26-year-old French left-hander, ranked 32 in the world, went on to win the first set in a tiebreak against the 2014 Australian Open champion.

Before going on to win the second also in a tie-break and claim the biggest win of his career so far.

Mannarino will fancy his chances of progressing further with Thiem awaiting in the fourth round.

Next up was an all-French affair and Gael Monfils needed just two sets to get the better of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga - 6-4 7-6 the final score.

Monfils will now play the winner of the match between Tomas Berdych and Bernard Tomic.
