Wales bring together Arab and Jewish communities

  • Intro:

Gareth Bale and some of his Welsh international team-mates played football with children from Arab and Jewish communities on Sunday (29th March) in the port city of Haifa in the north of Israel.

    Script:

The morning after a famous night on the continent for Welsh football.

The players were out for a kickabout with local Arab and Jewish communities in Haifa.

The night before Wales put themselves in prime position to qualify for their first major championship since the 1958 World Cup.

Gareth Bale was the star of the show scoring twice - and setting up another goal - as Chris Coleman's side beat Israel 3-0 to move top of Group B in 2016 UEFA European Championship qualifying.

Wales have 11 points from five games, two points ahead of Israel, who've got a game in hand, as do third-placed Belgium, who moved onto eight points after they thrashed Cyprus 5-0.

Despite the importance of last night, Coleman put the game into perspective here:

"We came here for the points, we knew it will be tough and we took care of business. But this morning and it's all about these children and that's why we are here this morning. Last night is finished, today is another day, we've come here to support the children and we are happy to be here."

Wales' next game is against Belgium in Cardiff on June 12th.

If they're smiling then, it will surely be time to talk about the finals of Euro 2016.
