Headed by Russian IOC member Alexander Zhukov, the IOC Evaluation Commission visited the slopes of the Genting Secret Garden resort in Chongli county.

The resort will host some skiing and snowboarding events, should Beijing win the bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

The Commission have already visited sites in the city of Beijing as well as the Yanqing Zone, where the Alpine Skiing and luge events would be staged.

Beijing, up against Almaty in Kazakhstan, is seeking to become the first city to host both the Summer and Winter Games.

The International Olympic Committee is due to select the host city on July 31 in Kuala Lumpur.

Although Beijing already has one Olympics under its belt, questions over pollution hang over the bid.

Speaking at an event earlier in the week, Zhukov stressed that commission members would not be afraid to ask "difficult questions" about Beijing's proposal during the trip.

Overall it scored the weakest among the initial three candidate cities on environmental impact.
