The opening round of the Trophee Hassan II in Agadir, Morocco produced some good performances from a number of players taking advantage of the excellent weather conditions.
Germany's Marcel Siem, one of several attempting to play their way into The Masters, opened with a four-under-par 68 - three off the eventual lead.
Following his fairytale victory at the Dunhill Links Championship last season, Oliver Wilson had a pleasing day on the course - a superb tee shot at the par-three 16th helping him towards his fifth birdie of the day.
Although he bogeyed at the last, Wilson carded a 68 alongside Siem and eight others.
Making his comeback from injury, Chris Wood holed five birdies, including one at the 17th, to secure a five-under-par 67.
Joining him is George Coetzee of South Africa, who was six-under by the time he got to the seventh hole, having started on the back nine.
Coetzee made immediate amends for a double bogey at the eighth with his seventh birdie of the day at the ninth to secure a round of 67.
David Drysdale also finished the day at five-under.
Leading the way though is 22-year-old Frenchman Adrien Saddier, who birdied the 15th to go six-under and rounded out his bogey-free day with a seventh birdie at the 18th.
A 65 sees Saddier top the leaderboard after round one, although there was a late rally from England's Daniel Gault.
He shot a six-under 66, one shot back.
